23/1 - Eric Kripke, creator and executive producer of The CW's horror series Supernatural, told SCI FI Wire that season two will end with a final episode that will wrap things up and answer a lot of questions, unlike the previous season's cliffhanger finale. Among the questions that will be answered: What's the deal with Sam's destiny? What's the deal with the yellow-eyed demon? And will we see Sam and Dean's dad one last time? [...] Which is not to say that the finale will resolve all issues for the demon-hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester. "The story is by no means over," Kripke said. "There's major issues that still need to be resolved. But we're giving a climactic season finale that we think is going to feel epic and pretty exciting. We think the fans should be pretty stoked to see what's coming." Kripke said that the remainder of the season will be balanced between stand-alone stories and episodes that further the mythology of the series, leading to a spectacular conclusion in the finale.

It's not in the near future, but as is obvious on our show, the dead are not always dead, and we've heard about where he may or may not be as you recall if you saw the last episode that aired, "Crossroad Blues", where the demon said Dad's down in hell suffering. Yeah, demons sometimes lie, but I don't know. We will deal with that and you will see him again, but I'm not sure when. Indeed [Sam and Dean will get love interests]! There is an episode coming up where Sam will actually get very much involved with a young lady, but the trick with them as the fans know is they're always on the move, so relationships are hard to establish and hard to maintain. We do have a very big mythology episode coming up where you'll learn a lot more about Sam and you're going to learn about what Dad whispered to Dean about Sam on his deathbed. And we're going to find that out very soon, we're not going to wait until the end of the year to reveal it. She's wired into the world of hunters and she's strong and smart and interacts with the boys and there are sparks between her and Dean. We take it really slow. The roadhouse and her character appear every four or five episodes. We're certainly not interested in rushing into anything. The premise of the episode is that a man, possessed by the devil, convinces several everyday citizens to act in horrific fashion. On Monday, Delta Automotive on Elliott Street was converted into a gas station, and while a woman fills up her SUV, she receives a call on her cell phone from the demon who instructs her to douse herself in gasoline and then light herself on fire. Other stunts later in the week included a customer inside a converted Massey’s Marine Supply committing a murder-suicide, and a doctor jumping in front of a bus outside Delta Museum and Archives.

However, after local detectives Ballard (guest star Linda Blair) and Sheridan (guest star Jason Gedrick) uncover the Winchesters' records, they arrest the brothers for a double homicide before they are able to find the ghost. When the ghost begins to visit Ballard, she begins to wonder if the tale Sam and Dean are telling her could be true, and if she might be the next to die.

In present time, Sam and Dean meet George, a genius artist, who practices HOODOO (herbs, mojo bags, etc), who followed in Robert's footsteps with the demon. George tells them the demon stayed in town a week, making deals with many other people, including an architect, a doctor and others. Dean calls the demon, telling her he wants to make a deal and save a man named Even Hudson in exchange for himself. He tries to trap the demon with a Devil's Trap, and she tells him that he blew it and says some awful things about where his father is, torturing him from the inside out.

20/11 - After Sam has a vision of Dean killing a young man who seems to be possessed by a demon, the two brothers head off to Oregon to search for answers, where the word “Croatoan” carved into a telephone pole may be the key to a series of very strange events in a small town. The town is infected by a deadly virus that drives a person to kill. Sam becomes infected by one of the locals and prepares for his deadly fate, but after nothing happens to him, Dean decides to come clean and reveal what John whispered to him before he died.

After Sam has a vision of a scared Duane with a gun and a scar running down his hairline, they meet a man named Vargo who points them to Duane. Sam and Dean find the Tanners: Mrs Tanner beaten up and bloody and her husband dead from a gunshot wound. She tells them her husband and son did this to her, like they had the Devil in them. Sam and Dean worry about mass possession when they begin to come across more and more people like the Tanners and about the possibility of the demons trying to wipe out the entire town, from the inside out. A doctor finds some strange things, such as sulfur residue, in Mr Tanner's blood then Sam gets cut and possibly infected, leaving the group wondering what they should do.

The brothers find evidence of voodoo around the inn, but soon realize the little girl's imaginary friend may in fact be a demon who is killing the townspeople.

They meet the owner, Susan, and her daughter Tyler, who are packing to move after they sell the hotel. Tyler is playing with a little girl named Margaret. The brothers notice strange items around the hotel, including an urn with a familiar pattern, dolls with their heads backwards and Susan's mother, who looks vacant and beyond terrified. When Susan finds them in her mother's room trying to talk to her, she throws them out and threatens to call the cops.

Apparently, she and her husband were driving along when they spotted the farmer in the road, swerved and hit a tree. When Molly came to, her husband was missing. The situation goes from bad to worse when the Winchester brothers break it to her that the farmer haunts the highway annually and that Molly is likely his next victim.

5/3 - After investigating the death of a lawyer (guest star Nate Quinlan) who appeared to have been killed by a wild animal, Sam and Dean realize they are tracking a werewolf. Sam is immediately attracted to the lawyer's secretary Madison (guest star Emmanuelle Vaugier) and when it seems as if Madison will be the werewolf's next victim, Sam offers to stay overnight to protect her. Dean heads out to hunt the animal and is stunned by what he finds.

Episode 18 - Hollywood Babylon

14/3 - You probably heard that the Winchester Bros. are heading to La La Land on April 19 to investigate a haunted movie set. Well, the in-joke-laden episode — appropriately titled "Hollywood Babylon" — features a shout-out to CW sibling Gilmore Girls. Truth be told, it's more of a slam — and it's bridge-burnin' Girls grad Jared Padalecki who does the dissing! It takes place while Sam and Dean are on a tram tour of the Warner Bros. backlot. Pay attention when the tour guide announces, "Up to the left is Stars Hollow, the setting for the television series Gilmore Girls…. "

He’s either going to be in it or an actor that plays him, we’re still working it out. We play with all of the haunted movie set mythology like the POLTERGEIST set, the THREE MEN AND A BABY set; it’s called “Hollywood Babylon”.

25/1 - In an episode featuring plenty of in-jokes, SPN executive producer McG cameos. Sam's phone makes a prominent appearance. While shooting a horror film, the actress finds a body. After learning her identity, a previously reluctant Dean fanboys over her and agrees to work the case. The brothers pose as PAs and are unimpressed with the shooting draft of the script, which removes all correct Latin chants and other eerily accurate research; replacing them with cleavage. The film's original writer seeks revenge for the revisions.

Episode 19 - Folsom Prison Blues

5/4 - After hearing about a ghost that has been killing off inmates one by one, Sam and Dean decide the best way to investigate this spirit is from the inside and allow themselves to get thrown into the state penitentiary. However, after FBI agent Henricksen (guest star C. Malik Whitfield) shows up to take over their case, getting out of prison becomes a bigger challenge than finding the spirit.

28/2 - When the police show up (Sam is the first to notice they're not alone) and the brothers are blinded by very bright lights and ordered to get on their knees and all that, they're... amused and rather sheepish. Not even Sam is angsty at that moment. (If anything, he's annoyed with Dean). Oh, and this episode ends with 'to be continued'.

21/2 - While in prison, Dean plays poker with other inmates and cleans house. The brothers play one-on-one basketball. Linda Blair's character (from"The Usual Suspects") and the bank teller from "Nightshifter" are name-dropped as witnesses in the boys' favors (and in a neat show of continuity!). In "Folsom Prison Blues," the charges against Dean include mail fraud, credit card fraud, grave desecration, armed robbery, kidnapping and first degree murder. Reidy and Henriksen are seeking the death penalty for Dean and a life sentence for Sam.

15/2 - Called to help with a haunted prison, the brothers are caught on a routine evidence-gathering trip and arrested. Dean spoofs Zoolander during his mug shots. Later, he meets Henriksen face-to-face for the first time, who expresses grudging admiration in their training and ability to disappear (in earlier drafts, that dialogue was between Henriksen and Sam). As a distraction for Sam, Dean incites a fight and earns himself solitary confinement, where a salt packet saves his life.

14/2 - Nabbed on breaking-and-entering charges, the Winchesters meet Mara, their public defender. She later becomes an unlikely ally and earns herself an enemy in Henrikson by probing the inconsistencies between the charges and witnesses. Henriksen tells Sam he admires the techniques the brothers used. With no other option, Sam asks Mara for research help on a job.

Episode 20 - What Is and What Should Never Be

18/4 - Dean is attacked and transported to a world where his mother (guest star Samantha Smith) is alive, Sam is in law school and engaged to Jessica (guest star Adrianne Palicki), and Dean lives a very normal life with his girlfriend (guest star Michelle Borth). However, after he starts seeing a strange girl (guest star Melanie Neige Scrofano) and learns all the people he has saved in the past have died, Dean must decide whether he wants to stay in this new safe life where everyone he loves is alive or if he should return to the hunt.

22/2 - Dean is attacked by a Djinn, which warps his reality when it touches him. He wakes in a Lawrence, Kansas apartment next to a woman named Carmen. When he calls Sam to report, the exasperated little brother accuses Dean of drunk-dialing him (hearing 'gin' instead of 'djinn') and tells him to sleep it off. After hanging up on him, Sam returns to his research books - which include a law school textbook. Dean gets a taste of a normal life. While all is not rosy - in this warped reality, Sam's in school and the brothers do not get along - Dean is speechless when he's able to see his mother alive and well, and living in his childhood home. Struggling to find out what happened, Dean turns to Carmen, a nurse he apparently lives with and loves, and who knows this new Dean better than he knows himself. But while relaxing on his couch, Dean spots a woman with her throat cut, who looks very familiar...

Episode 21 - All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 1

21/4 - Sam is abducted by the Yellow-Eyed Demon and finds himself in a ghost town with other children who have special abilities. They learn the Demon has brought them together to initiate his endgame: an all-out war against the human race. In an effort to encourage Sam to fight, the Demon shows him what really happened to one of his parents. Dean enlists Bobby's (guest star Jim Beaver) help to find Sam before the battle begins, but he arrives too late.

4/4 - According to a set visitor, the brothers actually hug. Mary Winchester may not have been an innocent victim as previously portrayed. Dean's worst nightmare comes true. Oh, and critics of the Roadhouse storyline will be pleased when it goes down in flames (literally!). Another set visitor interviewed Jensen Ackles, and the actor referenced doing an emotionally heavy scene while Jared just lay with his eyes closed. (Part of these spoilers may happen in episode #22)

Neither brother knows the condition or whereabouts of the other, though Dean consults with Ash and hunts with Bobby to find Sam. Ava's true intentions are revealed. Jake saves Sam's life, but later turns on the younger Winchester.
