Career: After filming a pilot for an unaired NBC pilot, Jared planned to attend the University of Texas, however he changed his mind when he won the part of Dean in "Gilmore Girls" in 2000; he also appeared in several tv show episodes including ER. Films include "Cheaper by the Dozen" in 2003 , "New York Minute" and "Flight of the Phoenix" in 2004 then "Cry Wolf" and "House of Wax" in 2005. He was given the part of Sam Winchester in "Supernatural" in 2005, now airing it's 3rd season. Jared played the lead in the first of hopefully 3 films about American artist Thomas Kinkade, called "The Christmas Cottage", due out December 2008. More recently he is in negotiations to play the lead role in the remake of 80's horror film "Friday the 13th".
